Ariel Querubin Attends Cabuyao Flag Raising, Highlights Anti-Corruption and Pro-People Agenda

CABUYAO CITY—Independent senatorial candidate and Medal of Valor awardee Ariel Querubin joined Cabuyao Mayor Dennis Hain at the city's flag-raising ceremony on February 17, as he sought to gain support in the vote-rich province of Laguna. Querubin took the opportunity to present his BET-Ko platform—Busog na Tiyan, Edukasyong Dekalidad, Trabaho at Kitang Sapat, Korapsyon Lalabanan—aligning his national vision with Mayor Hain’s local governance initiatives.

Querubin emphasized that fighting corruption is at the core of his candidacy, promising to go after those who steal from public funds, regardless of personal ties.

“Kahit magkaibigan tayo, kung nagnakaw ka sa mamamayang Pilipino, humanda ka na,” Querubin declared.

During his speech, the retired Marine colonel underscored his personal sacrifices in service to the country, recalling his experiences on the battlefield and his detainment for standing against corruption.

“I have seen and felt a lot of sufferings while out there in the field fighting all the armed groups. Dalawang beses po akong nakulong dahil sa paglaban sa korapsyon at para maituwid ang pamamahala sa ating bansa,” he said.

Querubin also addressed the root causes of insurgency, linking it to poverty and government corruption.

“Bakit nagrerebelde ang ating mga kapatid, hindi ba dahil sa kahirapan na dulot ng korapsyon?” Querubin asked the crowd.

Positioning himself as a fearless advocate for the Filipino people, Querubin promised to be a strong voice in the Senate for reforms and accountability. “Kailangan natin ng isang matapang na Senador na magsusulong ng batas para sa taumbayan. Kapag tayo pinalad, mayroon kayong matapang na Senador na walang takot na magsusulong ng kapakanan ng taumbayan,” he stated.

Querubin ended his address with a firm assurance of his integrity: ”Yung Ariel Querubin, hindi marunong magnakaw.”
