QUEZON CITY—Independent senatorial candidate Ariel Querubin met with informal settlement residents, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Barangay Daang Tubo, Quezon City, on March 1 to hear their concerns on cash assistance, jobs and healthcare.

During the consultation, Querubin emphasized the need for sustainable livelihood programs instead of short-term financial aid.
Many of the residents echoed this sentiment, stressing the importance of employment opportunities.
Hangga’t kaya magtrabaho, malakas pa, walang problema yan,” Querubin responded.

Querubin said that if elected, he would push for policies ensuring that seniors who are still fit to work have access to employment.
Querubin also called for free regular medical checkups for vulnerable sectors.
“Taon-taon dapat may libre kayo [senior citizens and PWDs] na may check-up sa mga government hospitals. Kahit sa mga bata, kailangan natin ng pacheck-up,” Querubin said.
Querubin’s consultation is part of his grassroots approach to understanding the needs of marginalized communities and shaping policies that provide practical and long-term solutions.
