Querubin calls for pension hike amid rising costs of living

TAGUIG CITY—Independent senatorial candidate Ariel Querubin called on the government to adjust pensions to match the rising costs of living.

Querubin, a retired Marine officer and Medal of Valor awardee, met with pensioners and members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association in Barangay North Signal on March 15 to hear their concerns and discuss his platforms.

“Dapat naman ang pensyon natin ay tinataas depende sa inflation rate,” Querubin said.

Querubin pointed out that stagnant pensions leave retirees struggling to afford basic needs, especially medicine and healthcare.

“Ano naman ang gagawin mo sa pensyon mong kapiranggot kung nagmamahalan naman ang mga bilihin, pati mga gamot. Kaya dapat tumaas din ang pensyon,” he added.
