Querubin: EDSA was a missed opportunity

QUEZON CITY—Independent senatorial candidate and Medal of Valor awardee Ariel Querubin said the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution was a missed opportunity, speaking at the Kapihan sa Eurotel Media Forum today in North EDSA, Quezon City.

“Sayang lang yung diwa ng EDSA. It was a God-given opportunity for us to unite, and we missed it,” Querubin said.

Querubin pointed out that partisan conflicts continue to prevent leaders from focusing on Filipinos’ most urgent problems.

“Yung [issue ng] pambubully sa West Philippine Sea, hindi tayo nagkakaisa. Yung issue about corruption, hindi rin tayo nagkakaisa. Issue against social injustice, hindi rin tayo nagkakaisa. Watak-watak pa rin tayo,” Querubin stressed.

The forum, moderated by Dr. Danilo Mangahas and Alvin Pelobello, also featured fellow senatorial candidates Rep. Bonifacio Bosita and Allen Capuyan, who shared their perspectives on national concerns.
