TAGUIG CITY—Independent senatorial candidate Ariel Querubin celebrated his 69th birthday on Friday at the Philippine Navy headquarters in Taguig City, where he served for nearly 35 years as a Marine officer.
Querubin paused his campaign to spend time with fellow AFP retirees, while also delivering a message on the importance of national unity and constitutional loyalty.

“Sana lahat tayo ay nagkakaisa. Itong mga hidwaan natin ay isantabi muna natin kasi ang dami nating problema na dapat nating hinaharap na nagkakaisa tayo,” Querubin said.
Querubin also reminded uniformed personnel to stay nonpartisan and uphold the rule of law.
“Sa mga men in uniform, ito lang ang hiling ko sa inyo: remain loyal to the duly constituted authority. Protektahan natin ang ating Konstitusyon at dapat hindi tayo partisan,” he added.
Querubin, a Medal of Valor awardee, is running as an independent in the May 2025 midterm elections.
