CEBU PROVINCE—Independent senatorial candidate Ariel Querubin met with leaders of the 5K Movement in Mandaue City and joined campaign activities in Balamban and Toledo City on Friday, where he discussed national security and economic issues.

Speaking before the 5K Movement, a group advocating for the welfare of marginalized sectors in Cebu City, Querubin emphasized the importance of asserting the country’s rights over the West Philippine Sea and investing in national defense.

“Kung papayagan lang tayo na i-exploit, explore, and harness yung resources sa West Philippine Sea, uunlad tayo. Yung ekonomiya natin gaganda, pati yang mga problema sa inflation, mareresolba,” Querubin said.

Querubin, a retired Marine officer and a Medal of Valor awardee, also shared his intention to convince lawmakers to prioritize defense modernization over personal interests.
