SAN JUAN, BATANGAS—Independent senatorial candidate Ariel Querubin met with farmers on March 12 to discuss his “Busog na Tiyan” platform, which aims to increase local food production and bring down prices of goods.
Querubin, a retired Marine officer and Medal of Valor awardee, said he would push for policies allowing farming and livestock production on idle military lands.

And then the rest, taniman natin yan ng high-value crops,” Querubin stated.

Querubin also suggested that forming agricultural cooperatives with the help of the military could improve engagement between local farmers and the government.

“Dapat sana para mapalapit din natin yung taumbayan sa ating gobyerno through the military, magtayo ng cooperative,” he said.
Querubin’s “Busog na Tiyan” platform is centered on boosting food supply to lower prices, making food more accessible to Filipinos, and ultimately addressing hunger.
